Ehoes of the Rhodope

Nestled in the heart of the majestic Rhodope Mountains, our hotel is a gateway to one of Bulgaria’s richest cultural treasures. Surrounded by greenery, with views of ancient forests and mountain peaks, we are located near the Ilinden region, home to the world-renowned Festival of the 100 Bagpipes.

This powerful gathering, where dozens of kaba gaida players perform in unison, is a living symbol of identity, community, and history. The deep, resonant tones of the Rhodope bagpipe have echoed through these valleys for centuries, carrying the stories, dreams, and spirit of the mountain people.

A Living Heritage
Playing the kaba gaida is more than an art, it is a tradition passed down through generations. In the surrounding villages, this legacy is still alive: at weddings, festivals, and family gatherings, the sound of the bagpipe rings out with pride. It unites, stirs emotion, and reminds us of our connection to the land and to one another.

From the Mountain to the World
Inspired by this cultural richness, we are proud to announce our new project: a series of professionally recorded bagpipe performances, created in collaboration with local musicians. These recordings will be available to our guests and shared beyond the hotel, through streaming platforms, curated playlists, and special listening events.

Our mission is to preserve and share the magic of this unique music, so that people around the world can discover and feel the beauty and depth of Rhodope culture.

For Our Guests and Future Generations
Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning to familiar sounds, we invite you to listen, to truly feel the spirit of the Rhodopes through its most iconic voice: the kaba gaida. Stay tuned for the first releases in our series, and immerse yourself in a sound that has inspired hearts across generations.

Because here, beneath the shadow of the mountain, tradition lives on.
