Where they are and how to get there
Bedenski Mineral Baths are located next to the village of Beden, in the Devin area. From Gela, the drive is scenic and short – approximately 14 km along the road to Devin (about 20 minutes, depending on conditions).
The water
This spring is one of the treasures of the Rhodopes: hot mineral water at around 76°C, with moderate mineralization (approximately 1.7–1.8 g/l) and a valuable composition – hydrocarbonate–sulfate–sodium, with metasilicic acid, fluoride, and natural carbon dioxide. The water has a pH of around 6.6, and its balneological properties are officially recognized.
Benefits
The mineral water in Beden has long been used for prevention and balneotherapy, most commonly for joint and muscle issues, spinal and musculoskeletal conditions, and nervous system-related complaints. It can also support metabolic and dermatological conditions.
What to expect on site
In the area you will find complexes and pools with mineral water, including indoor and outdoor facilities – some directly in Beden, others in Devin, where spa hotels use the local mineral springs. The water temperature in the pools is cooled to comfortable levels for bathing.

Bedenski Baths are convenient for families with children – easy access, pleasant resting areas, and natural warmth that soothes after a day in the mountains. (As always, follow the on-site guidelines and check water temperature for younger children.)
A small ritual for travelers
- Before the water: a short walk and a glass of water – the body relaxes more easily.
- In the water: 10–15 minutes, a pause, then another short soak – let the warmth work gradually.
- After the water: herbal tea and slow steps. The Rhodopes love patience.
